As much as I’ve been up to lately, I’ve certainly neglected highlighting the numerous cool articles I’ve come across in a Four-Links.
* First, a group of flathead Ford V-8ers got together to make this awesome 1:1 model car display, though they don’t say which show it appeared at (my guess: a World of Wheels somewhere). This is the kind of innovative thinking that can make a car show fun, not a bunch of cars just sitting around for JimBob and his family to gawk over. Reminds me of Optima’s display at SEMA last year. UPDATE: Thanks to one of the commenters at Autoblog, we found out that the display took place at the 47th annual Cavalcade of Wheels in South Bend, Indiana, which took place March 17-18.
* The New York Times this week has a profile of California car dealer Cal Worthington (and his dog, Spot). My parents spent a couple years in California in the mid- to late 1970s and said they saw these commercials air all the time, enough so that I knew exactly the Cal Worthington schtick when I was a kid growing up in Ohio.
* What do you do when your local parking officials not only tow your legally parked and legally certified 1972 Bristol 411, but then proceed to crush it? I highly commend Mendoza Stewart on his restraint. (via)
* And finally, sidecars on scooters seem silly. They’re sillier when they’re shaped like a Volkswagen bus.
